How we check the companies we list
Every listing carries a label saying exactly what we've verified — we badge evidence, we never guess. Only companies at the top level can receive your enquiry.
Verified
The company has met at least one of our four verification standards, and its listing names each standard met. Only Verified companies can be sent your details. What Verified means
Registered company
The business's registration number is confirmed against Companies House — either published on their own website, or verified when they claim their listing.
Listing unclaimed
Compiled from public sources and not yet verified by the business. They appear in the directory for completeness, but they can never receive your enquiry.
What "Verified" means
A removal company earns Verified status on RemovalCompanies.Reviews by meeting at least one of the four standards below. Each company's listing names the standards that company has met.
- Insurance verified. The company has supplied evidence of valid Goods in Transit and Public Liability insurance. RemovalCompanies.Reviews has reviewed and approved the documents.
- BAR member. The company is a current member of the British Association of Removers (BAR), stated as a fact we have checked. BAR does not endorse RemovalCompanies.Reviews.
- Established and reviewed. The company has at least five years of verifiable trading history, supported by a consistent record of high-quality customer reviews over that period.
- Personally assessed. A representative of RemovalCompanies.Reviews has watched the company carry out a real removal, seen its team, vehicles and working practices first-hand, and found its service standards satisfactory.
Verified status is not a guarantee of future service. It means that, at the time of verification, the company met at least one of our defined verification standards.
Verified is the assessment of RemovalCompanies.Reviews against the standards above. Where a listing names a trade body, such as the British Association of Removers, the membership is a fact we have checked, and that body does not endorse, sponsor or approve RemovalCompanies.Reviews.

Only Verified companies are sent your details. If you ask for a company that is not Verified, the quote form tells you before you send, and RemovalCompanies.Reviews does not pass your details to that company. We ask the company to get verified, and if the company is verified within 14 days we send the company your request and email you to say so.

Will RemovalCompanies.Reviews share my details with lots of companies?
No. Your enquiry goes to a maximum of four credible companies covering your area. We never sell your details on, and you deal with each company directly from there.
Does RemovalCompanies.Reviews cost anything to use?
No. Comparing is completely free for customers. We make our money by introducing you to validated companies. The cost of your move is then proposed by each removal company based on the time and materials they expect the job to take, and you are under no obligation to accept any of them.
Can companies pay RemovalCompanies.Reviews to rank higher?
Companies cannot pay to appear in your quote shortlist. Sponsored placement does exist on some pages, but it is always clearly labelled and never affects which companies receive your enquiry or how they are vetted.
What happens after I submit the form on RemovalCompanies.Reviews?
Up to four verified companies covering your area get in touch with you directly. Most companies want more detail before quoting: a phone call about the move, a video tour of your property, or a visit to see it in person. You then receive detailed quotes to compare. There are no sales calls from us and no obligation to book.
What does RemovalCompanies.Reviews do with my details?
Your details are only shared with the companies quoting for your move and are handled in line with UK data protection law (UK GDPR). We never sell your data to third parties, and you can ask us to delete your information at any time.
